Right on, dude - you gonna go with a 302, or a stroker?

Seriously, though - nice find at an unbelievable price. An '86 Comp Prep is the best of the best. How's the motor? For what you paid it should be junk, or missing altogether...

We have not tried to start it yet. Last night Brian beat the locking lug nuts off and pulled the 4 flat tires and wheels and installed my spare polished SVO wheels on it. He also washed the 1/4 inch of dust off of the motor. Surprisingly the engine and engine bay are super cleane once hosed down.

I know Brian snapped a few pics and he will probably post them later.

Don'tcha know? Gotta toss a Chevy 350 in there if he wants to go fast!

Great save, just needs a little cosmetic work.

    It's starting to look good.

We had it fired up and running on saturday. The fuel tank was full of this varnish smelling alien blood looking gunk. Swapped the tank from Brians LX into it along with his new pump. Fixed a few vacume leaks and fired it up.

Ran great for about 10 mins, no strange noises or smoke. Brian turned her off to keep the garage from getting full of exhaust and then it wouldnt restart. Have not really messed with it since.

I'm thinking either TFI or maybe fuel pressure regulator. I have a Kirban on the LX that I can swap in, and half a dozen different TFI's to try. The car sounds like it's about to catch when it's cranked, but just doesn't quite make it.

I've had the car for a week and it's already got the air elbow deleted (soon to have a cone filter) and a 255 pump.

Gonna swap injectors and Kirban, and maybe TFI if those don't do it, from the LX and see what happens.
