Default Well its home, quite a nice pace

And to think, the 4-eye butchers were going to get it!

Nice car, fairly rust free thanks to Ziebart. Well, off to play with it and introduce it to its new friends.

    Not a speck!

BTW, it gives "slow" a new meaning. The timing is grossly off and half the vac lines are blocked off.

I ordered a 80 EVTM from Helm (no 79 availibile) and we will take it from there.

This is a good car, like my 5.0 Anny. Does not require a full out resto just a "re-freshening". A season of TLC, a few grand and it will be good what I call a "resto-driver"

It blows me away, I hate to sound like a sissy but sitting in it and driving it really moved me.

Its the first 79 I have ever owned and you can really see how the original design ideas are in the 79.

It is such a brave new world type car. For Jack Telnac and that group, to change it from the M2 is quite wild. They so wanted to save weight and maximize fuel efficency and performace with what they had.

The door panels for instance, you can see by my 82 how the bean counters had simplied the door panels from the complex more expensive moulded plastic ones and so on.

I can send you copies of the 79 vacuum manual, if I can find it in my mess.

I can take pics of the vacuum lines on my Indy for you if you want. My car is completely untouched. There has to be 3 lineal miles of vacuum lines under the hood of these things.

Good news on the roof. 9 times out of 10 they are rusted.

Not down here in the south :P . Just kidding. I hate to think about all the cars up north that are gone due to rust.

I dont know what it is about the sunroof design but my V8 Indy doesnt have a spot of rust on it except that it is completely rusted around the sunroof.

If you could before I get the EVTM, can you just take a look and let me know where does the top vac line from the wastegate soleniod go to? There are two vac lines, a large one (lower) hooked to the manifold source vacumn and another which must be the pilot right over it. On my car the top smaller one is cut and has a bolt in it.

I dont think its building boost (no green boost light) or do I hear it dumping.

The car is down and was (saved) due to some wacky driveability issue

    thanks greg!

I am missing a whole lot 'o crap. I can see you have an EGR valve, mine was removed, the odd wastegate line runs into a black box of somesort.

My TurboCharger only has the bottom half of that vac tee!

Its going to take some figuring when I get the EVTM.

But, it can all be solved

Awesome looking ride. If I see another Pace Car, I'm going to have to refinance my house to get myself one. They're my favorite model of the early cars and I keep promising myself that I will own one someday. As for the vacuum lines, I remember all of those on mine. Aye, Aye, Aye.

Can I see some more in depth pics? I have this wierd feeling that is one of the turbo 4 pace cars I used to own.

More specifically, could I see the other side of the engine, a few interior pics, and some engine pics with the breather off?
