Default NLR code in Buck tag

Has anyone seen a tag without the NLR code on the last line?

    Maybe No License Restrictions???

    Back from the dead LOL

I think it's "No Rear Louvers"

    It's not No Louvers Rear.

I have copies of a few Buck Tags with both "LL" and "NLR" on them.

Want to take a guess what "LL" means?

One of the 85 asc coupe guys with had the elusive missing NLR.

His tag is nearly identical as mine but mine has the NLR.

Well crap, so much for trusting Google searches.

As for what "LL" means, I'll pass on guessing that.

Sorry for posting the wrong information, I'll return to lurk mode now.

    LL = Liftgate Louvers

So far - I'm not yet done collecting the ones that have been posted - I have four '82 Buck Tags that have both "LL" and "NLR" on them. All of them are GTs. One of the four is even a GT with a turbo 2.3L engine (Canada only).

I'm going to keep up with this guys.. I don't think it's Louver related.

No convertible in 82, so that can't be it, good guess though.

Soooo...I have my Turbo RS and 85 GT tags here...the Capri has 2NLR and the Mustang has 1NLR.

I really need to grab all the tags I have picked up from junkyards.

    Default NLR

NLR, how about something related to the lower rocker trim? It would not seem likely to call out something that is an option and say "no" option. For something that seems to fairly common, it would not seem to be a customer specific delete option.

    NLR, how about non-locking rear?

Thought about the locking rear but how many GTs have that as an option?I thought a traction lok was standard.

The NLR code having something to do with the lower rocker is a possibility. I believe there were three possible lower rocker treatments:

    body color
    chrome
black ('83-'84 Mustang only) OR silver ('84 Capri only)

I haven't yet figured out which models or years got body color or chrome.

The NLR code is not 'non-locking rear'.

The only time you could get a 'GT' without Traction-Lok was in '82 with the non-turbo 2.3L or 3.3L (both available in Canada only) or the 4.2L (T-L was optional, not standard).

Well, if it means anything, my 82 has NLR, but the tag from the 88 LX parts car I had doesn't have it. Unless if Ford used a different designation, maybe it's something related to 4I's only?

I wouldn't think so. The 86 gt tag I posted above had no ttops and it has NLR on the tag.

My 86 GT had it on the core support right in plain view front of car side.
