I just got an idea. Since there seems to be so many "how many cars were made like mine" threads and every one keeps getting referred to the same place to find out, let's put all the info into ONE thread and everyone post the results you get back.

Stew Jones (Third Generation News and Beyond) can give you the following info for FREE - your Mustang's build date, paint and interior codes and how many were made just like it (in those colors). All you gotta do is go here - http://www.thirdgenerationnewsandbey...heck/index.htm - fill out the form and he will email you the results (I did it yesterday and he got back to me the same day). I think he can only do it for Mustangs '82 and up.

After you get the results back, post everything here just for fun (your car's year model and bodystyle, engine, exterior and interior colors, its build date and how many were built like yours).

I'll go first.

1985 Mustang GT hatchback
Engine = 5.0L (obviously as it's a GT)
2R (Bright Red) PY (Beige Cloth)
Built 10/9/84
Number built in that color combo = 664

(not very rare, but still cool!)

All of my cars have a catch that makes them more rare then they look. All Anny's look common because 5000 of them were the same color and interior, added to the normal production.

Then T-tops are not taken into consideration

Common number that I have found for T-Top cars is 10% of total production. Remember that is a ballpark figure since T-Tops were an option and not listed like engines, trim codes, etc.

For those of you who haven't tried, send the $10 check to Mr. Jones and you'll likely get the paperwork within one week -- just like I did only one week ago.

Discovered my 84GT 5.0 Medium Canyon Red with Grey Interior 'vert is one of only 21 made just like it.

Interesting thing about mine is that the DSO is 89, meaning Ford Transportation Services. Previous (2nd) owner said my car was purchased by a Ford VP -- I was able to confirm that while detailing it when I found a box of this Finance VP's business cards that had fallen into the 'verts top well way back when.

The coupe especially saddens me because of the condition it is in. I figure its even rarer than 32 too, since its an AOD car with A/C, yet not a single other option. No radio, no power anything, no console.
