Default 1979 pace car color question

Hi Guys, I just bought a 79 2.3 turbo pace car that I am restoring. I was wondering if anyone knows the original color and color code of the car. The car looks like a champagne color to me but the door tag says 1E or silver. Is the champagne color just the oxidized silver or is there something I don't know about. Any help appreciated

Your in luck!!! Im going to make this very easy for you.

I just had my car painted a year and a half ago and I happen to still have a can of the paint, so heres everything you need to know assuming that the paint you use is made by MBC or Omni Au, Im realy not sure which one is the actual company.

Ok heres exactly what the can says.

    OMNI AU

    MBC

    OEM: 1E Ford 1979
    MBC33369 A

    Ditzler/PPG Codes
    33369 is the Pewter Poly
2915 is the Indy Pace Car Orange also known as Vista Orange
    9381 Flat Black

I'm not sure on the Red... IT could be Bright Red 72304?

Well the red and orange codes shouldn't matter since they are in a reproduction sticker kit you can get from phoenix graphix, if you want the original pin striping around the trim then having the orange paint code is good since it is painted on the front and rear bumpers.

Cool... I'm glad you mentioned that because I couldn't figure out why they would list the Orange specifically as Indy Pacecar and not the Red...

    Thanks...

    Default 9381 Flat Black

Thanks for the info! So 9381 flat black is the hood scoop and lower body color? I thought it was semi gloss. Good to know.
    Thanks
