    Sorry, double post .
My 84 GT’s buzzer makes me crazy anytime I’m working on something with the key in the ignition.
Has anyone changed out their annoying headlight on/ key in ignition/ door open buzzer sounding alarm?
Would a later 861/2-93 “chime” replace it?.
I know some people just disconnect it, but I do like the annoying “chime” of my 94GT better.

I looked at an '84 LTD one time and that buzzer was so annoying I knew I would have to change that if I bought the car. I didn't. My '85 has the more pleasant chime you are looking for. Fortunately it looks like a pretty simple swap to the later model chime module. Hope this helps.

    Thanks for that link !
I just looked on EBay for one and the asking prices and shipping costs
    Are just plain stupid!
They want ridiculous money for a used chime .
Guess I will live with my “buzzer” a little longer.
    Thanks again,

Hooked up power for the first time in 25 years to my 83 the other day to see what would happen..... I heard this terrible buzzing sound and immediately pulled the ground off the battery.... Tapped the ground to the battery a few times and finally walked ( my battery is on the pass side) around to the drivers door and started to laugh.... Yep is was the buzzer going off... I think mine was the door open/keys in the ignition buzz....
Yes a RUDE buzzer for sure, but after a bit I was pretty excited... Power to the system, things worked and NO smoke.......

Most every car part on ebay has a ridiculous asking price. I'm sure they probably used the same chime module for a hundred years. Best bet it to snag one from a junkyard. Taurus, Crown Vic, etc.

    Well Bentley,
I hope you enjoy your success for many years to come.
Hopefully everything else will work as well as that “Buzzer”
