hello everyone
I've been looking for this rare offenhauser collector for colony 2.8 for some time.
I read a dozen threads and wrote down the most important information about the holley 390cfm carburetor kit, that the H-pipe should be 30 inches long, and a 2-inch pipe and then 2.25 inches to the end. The middle mufflers are supposed to be some kind of flowmasters, without the end muffler.
The gearbox is a European n9 with capri dedicated to the V6, but the diesel version with a short 1 and a very long 5.
The rear axle is a sports atlas, axle with blackline LSD and a 3.44 big head.
my engine is a 2.8v6 from a ford scorpio with 85TM hard valve seats
- I have 3 intake manifolds,
- 2.3 v6
- 2.8 v6 for solex 38/38 EEIT carburetor from ford granada
- and now purchased Offenhauser for Holley carburetor 390cfm
I am asking for advice because here in Europe, no one knows anything about this manifold and its properties with this carburetor.
- should I change the nozzles to other ones, smaller than the factory ones ??
- carburetor I want to buy a new 2022 holley 390cfm
- is the factory carburetor already perfectly tuned, we put it on and start the car ??
I am asking for your advice because I have read that you have already had good experience.
I already have books by Steve and Pat, and my workshop is one of the best for these 2.8v6 engines in Warsaw, the capital of my country.
we will be rebuilding the engine from scratch with a better camshaft and a full rebuild over the holidays, so I have a lot of time to gather information.
tomorrow I will paste photos of the collector with even holes for Europe heads, this is not the USA version 2.8 v6, I have 5mb and my photos are over 200mb ....
