Default 2.8 V6 Offenhauser - Rare intake manifold, European heads

    hello everyone
I've been looking for this rare offenhauser collector for colony 2.8 for some time.
I read a dozen threads and wrote down the most important information about the holley 390cfm carburetor kit, that the H-pipe should be 30 inches long, and a 2-inch pipe and then 2.25 inches to the end. The middle mufflers are supposed to be some kind of flowmasters, without the end muffler.
The gearbox is a European n9 with capri dedicated to the V6, but the diesel version with a short 1 and a very long 5.
The rear axle is a sports atlas, axle with blackline LSD and a 3.44 big head.
my engine is a 2.8v6 from a ford scorpio with 85TM hard valve seats
    - I have 3 intake manifolds,
    - 2.3 v6
    - 2.8 v6 for solex 38/38 EEIT carburetor from ford granada
    - and now purchased Offenhauser for Holley carburetor 390cfm
I am asking for advice because here in Europe, no one knows anything about this manifold and its properties with this carburetor.
    - should I change the nozzles to other ones, smaller than the factory ones ??
    - carburetor I want to buy a new 2022 holley 390cfm
    - is the factory carburetor already perfectly tuned, we put it on and start the car ??
I am asking for your advice because I have read that you have already had good experience.
I already have books by Steve and Pat, and my workshop is one of the best for these 2.8v6 engines in Warsaw, the capital of my country.
we will be rebuilding the engine from scratch with a better camshaft and a full rebuild over the holidays, so I have a lot of time to gather information.
tomorrow I will paste photos of the collector with even holes for Europe heads, this is not the USA version 2.8 v6, I have 5mb and my photos are over 200mb ....

I think your best bet will be a wideband 02 sensor and an afr gauge. All of those components are going to result in jetting differences from stock. Not sure if you have a Dyno available but tuning it on the road is not difficult. Mucking with the jets isnt my area however. Others here may be more familiar.

Very interesting intake. So the upper part dumps it into those runners in the lower part at 6 points? Are there channels in the upper part or is it open inside?

Hi Thomas, welcome to the forum.

We have a stock 2.8 and also have the Offy intake and carb for a future upgrade. There are a few technical thread on this if you haven't looked around yet:

This is a thread I started when we rebuilt our 2.8. It got quite technical and a bit over my head at the time.

I also had the Sven Pruett book and we did some of the recommendations for porting among other small details on our heads.

the collector is the same dual-port version as for the heads in the US version, but it fits the European heads, to say that the collector is rare is an understatement, I was looking for it for 3 years and finally it is here, in Poland we have one more club member who has it, but never he didn't put it on because fear of the unknown and lack of information, and there is the internet....
The large hole is the basic feed-through, and the other two holes are on the second level and the air goes through the cold ducts straight to the heads.
As in the description, the collector focuses on torque and economical combustion.
Our European Solex 38/38 EEIT carburettors and the replacement Weber 38/38 will burn your 3 gallons of gas on the road, talking to people in the UK told me this kit should give you around 2.5 gallons.
Everything else has to do with the box, bridge and wheel size.
I have 13 - 4x108 slot mag rims in my taunus from 1974 from mustang 2, 205/60/13, so the fuel consumption may be small because the car weighs 1050 kilograms.
I currently have a 2.0 pinto engine from a ford sierra with LPG gas and the car burns 2 gallons of both fuels at 60 mph.
