Default 1982 mustang 2.3l carburetor vacuum line hook up!

So I'm just going to start off by saying that I am a idiot and I cannot read the vacuum diagram on my hood to save my life! Everything looks like it crosses each other and hooks up to each other lol.

That being said and out of the way.....does someone have a very and I mean VERY simplified photos of what vacuum lines go where and to what? Or can someone send me pictures of where they go? I am so unbelievably confused by this photo it hurts my brainName: Screenshot_20230404_204939_Chrome.jpg

Couldn't post a picture so here is a link to my photo, but I need to know where 1-5 vac lines go? A picture of where everything goes would be absolutely amazing! Or what is necessary for it to run and what I can cap off if not necessary! I am not needing to get smogged I just need it to run!

I'm reposting picture links to help you out.

Verses the OEM 1209 Replacement from United Carb. Its like yours, but it has a rocker cover vent line which I'm going to call 27C

    https://unitedcarb.com/products/holl...500-carburetor

This last picture is picture Six. It has an exploded 60 (sixty) element location diagram like this to cover off most of the items. It doesn't label vacuum lines, so we'll use:-

    4 is the Missing VOTM.
13A from the choke pull off line on the carb base beside 13.
16A for the choke pull down in beside item 16,
25B for the air horn vacuum line by the bowel vent beside 25
27Afor the plugged small diameter air horn beside 27.
27C, is the center rocker cover line which isn't on your carb.

Incidentally, Ford, Chrysler, and GM have six different ISP, TSP, VOTM ( Blue or Yellow), AC Kicker or Throttle Kicker mechanisms, with slang terms like Sole Pot for the TSP and Dual Line Modulater For the VOTM. That's item 4 on the last two schematics. Or Throttle Positioner Switch, which is a TSP for those who hate doing stuff the right way around.

Eighth picture is this Close up is from Mikes carbs

On the VECI diagram, this is what is what.

    VOTM is 4.
Carb V is 25B, Air Horn
F is 27A, Power Valve fuel enrichment
S is Spark Advance line to distributer
    T is Third Port
    E is EGR

    4 is the Missing VOTM.
13A from the choke pull off line on the carb base beside 13.
16A for the choke pull down in beside item 16,
25B for the air horn vacuum line by the bowel vent beside 25
27A for the plugged small diameter air horn beside 27.
27C, is the center rocker cover line which isn't on your carb.

So I can pretty much get away with plugging off all the ports on carb except the dist advance and maybe fuel enrichment?

Yah try that first and go add more from there later once engine is running again.
Maybe cap all loose vac lines in the engine bay not attached to anything. Uncap as needed.
Sometimes engine needs one small line from the intake to be uncapped to idle smooth.
Engine wont idle or even start with a large vac leak.
Mine runs better with dist adv connected direct to intake port for vacuum rather than the carb.
Whatever works may be right for now and beyond.

To the Intake manifold or to the air cleaner?

Our French guru Super Duty 455 on page 6 of "Bringing back to life Three 1979 Mustangs" has a White 79 V6 and had a bunch of both Red and Bronze 2.3 liter 79 Notchbacks.

The red car on Page 6 has a photo of the line hookups.

No vac lines need to be connected to the air cleaner to run the engine.
Air cleaner is not required to run an engine for a short time.

Sorry about the wheel on the sunroof, but I had to make sur it remained closed as there was a lot of wind lately.

The engine bay has been freshened a bit, but it's not finished yet. I have to work on the firewall :

    Header !

I started rebuilding the carb. It was filthy on the outside, but I didn't notice anything wrong inside aside from the membranes looking a bit out of shape. It's a Motorcraft/Holley 5200. :

Awesome, Thank you! Looks to me that most of the ports are for emissions stuff. So I will just need to plug them all and find which one is for the distributer advance or just hook it up to the manifold like gr79 said!
