    ur welcome
always enjoyed visits to windsor. have not been since 9/11.
Michigan Ave is a main bus route. detroit part parallels Mexican downtown to the south.
Large carryout Mexican Botanas are great.
    https://www.thrillist.com/eat/nation...it-food-nachos

Leisurely driving pace on the ave allows sightseeing and time to adjust to the changing surroundings.
Freeways downtown can get crazy with construction and messy traffic.
FWHQ show is less than 10 miles from downtown Detroit, roughly about 5 miles to Dearborn/Detroit border.
Mich ave is a direct route vs taking several freeways and doubling the distance.

One may catch a 2024 white/black camo Ford or other future product with manufacturers license plates being road tested.
Fairly common sight in Metro Detroit, rare anywhere else.

Buddy's Pizza, in 'mainstream' end is a great summer place to dine.
If you're coming from out of town/state, Buddy's Pizza is legit, but I would personally skip the chain restaurant and go straight for the kabobs, falafel, hummus, and shawarma. Some of the absolute best I've ever had.

Same can be said for the Mexican stands - Make sure you get an agua fresca and elote, but that's more of a snack than a proper meal.

Being cheap never went out regularly to eat. Too many good local non-chain spots to list. No bars anymore.
Back in the 80's got Botana carryout at Xochimilco Restaurant in Mexican town. Still priced under 10.00.
    DeLucas in Westland for Italian.
Polish Village Cafe in Hamtramck. Beet, Pickle soup. https://www.bing.com/search?q=polish...ANAB01&PC=U531
Lakepointe Yacht Club in Livonia. https://restaurantguru.com/Lakepoint...ivonia#gallery.
Down the road from the Lakepointe. Try to visit. https://roushcollection.com/
Fleetwood Diner in Ann Arbor. Hippy Hash(browns) fresh grated in house. http://thefleetwooddiner.com/about/
Duggans Pub on M1 Woodward Ave in Royal Oak. Car theme. Two story open air.
Menu has recipes from now extinct local 50's drive ins. Top fuel dragster hanging upstairs.

Ford's Garage in Dearborn, just west from the show, is also car themed. https://www.fordsgarageusa.com/locations/dearborn/
Coney Islands, pizza, everywhere. National Coney, Little Caesars, Jet's. Mitch's party store pizza on US-12 in Wayne.
Multi location Buscemi's party stores have square pizza, subs, cannoli. https://originalbuscemis.com/
Long gone but not forgotten in Detroit:
Jumbo fried shrimp, 1/2#, extra hot sauce and crackers, Faygo soda carryout at O'Quinns Shrimp House.
    Boogaloo sandwiches at Brothers BBQ.
    Reuben at Snelli Deli.

Just in case, closest Ford dealer is Village Ford couple miles west of show loc on US-12 MIchigan Ave.

Add Jet's carryout pizza chain. reasonable prices. Thick messy tasty square singles available.
Little Caeser's was founded in Detroit and they own the Detroit Tigers MLB team and Red Wings hockey arena.

Drove crosstown today. Traffic was bad the whole afternoon. Major road construction I-96/I-696, I-75, I-275 and surface roads.
Continuation totally rebuilding miles of main freeways surrounding Detroit for the next 2 years.
Governer's famous saying "Fix The Dam Roads" is no joke is for real more than ever.
Slow go no fun driving with a manual trans. Or if a coffee drinker needing restrooms. Patience.

Default just havin art fun home on a clear spring day

Photo showing a historic Ford part of Dearborn looking NW. Approx pan is NW to NE. Flight caught great weather for taking a pic like this.
Family member took it for me. May frame it someday. Worked over a year at the Rouge hired in 4/12/73. On the big ship came a forever life changing experience.
In a few hours, added text, symbol, graphics to the pic today. Added to many fine hours hanging out there.
Added location by the Rouge property of a decent CSX switch yard for rail fans.
Relearned how to fairly efficiently edit photos as to adding text and symbol overlays using mouse, usb tablet pad, and MS Paint.
Picture is shrunked to 79 % for minimum file size that enabled photo zoom without graphic texts pixelating to unreadable.
Needed to zoom pic 300 precent when adding graphics. A 250 percent zoom should be clear.
Good edit results require more experience than coloring Easter eggs?
Somehow by updating to newer equipment, etc, nothing fancy, the process was easier faster enjoyable than two or 10 years ago.

A few seconds later looking west. Plane was circling starting to do a 180 from NW heading to SW in a DTW final approach pattern.
DTW is off the pic 10 miles SW or left in pic. Ford Rouge River, Rouge factories, are at the center.
Detroit River, Windsor Canada bottom right corner of the first photo.

    SVO!

I think there's a separate SVO meetup/section at the event IIRC (SVOCA)

I'm still in the market, but whether I've found one by then or not, I plan on going. Who knows, maybe I'll find my dream 4-eye at the show!

Of those, I'd choose the SVO first and the GT Turbo second.

And the 95 doesn't belong at a Fox Fest!

While I'm inclined to agree whole heartedly, I think technically Mustangs are on the fox platform up to 04'.

Yea, technically it is, since it is built on a version of the fox platform.

However, for me, I just consider the Fox Mustangs to be from 79 to 93. Not trying to be exclusionary...... but I guess I am.

Nope, I'm with you. When I hear "Foxbody" - The last thing I think of is an SN95 or New Edge

Yep, both SVOCA and SVOOA plan to have club events. Both are reunion events.

The only thing rare about the 86 is that it's a spoiler delete. The 84 SVO needs a wiring harness (in progress, going to use an 87/8 TC harness) and paint. The 85.5 is the rarest but it needs a fuel pump and the front control arms swapped out.

Just bring your favorite and whatever is the most completed :-)

There's two YouTube personalities I follow (KASL Customs, and The Infamous Project) that are collaborating on a "**** Box Fox" that is going to be driven from Texas to Detroit for the show. It's not a four-eye, but it's been super entertaining to follow along.

I'm leaning towards the 86 SVO but I need to add it to the insurance and get the paperwork sent in for the historic plates.

My son might bring his 85 GT. Total $hitbox. Right now (among many issues) the door striker for the drivers door is missing. I have spares but there is a lot of disassembly to get to it as the bolting plated has fallen out of it's slot to the bottom of the quarter panel.

Just curious - Has anyone else purchased a hat/shirt from the MSFF website?

I ordered a hat about 3 weeks ago and I never got a tracking number, nor has anything shown up in the mail yet.

As the event gets closer, I think I'm going to get a hotel for the night before the show. It sounds like there's going to be a big meet and greet/cruise Friday night and I'd like to play it safe and not leave town at ~5am Saturday to get there in time.

Nope, but I was wondering about the registration packets. Aren't those supposed to show up in the mail soon?

I haven't gotten anything in the mail yet either. Was there supposed to be a cool packet?

I do have a digital "ticket" in my email with a QR code from Eventbrite - That might be all we need?

If I pre-registered do I have to bring a printed ticket to the event?
No, the only thing you need to bring is the window sticker and information packet that will be mailed to you

Did some snooping on Facebook (yuck) and saw this:

I also emailed a few times since I ordered a hat from their merch store at the end of May and still have not seen it, nor the paperwork.

I got a reply saying "things have shipped, expect them anytime".

    FYI to those going.

My hat finally showed up in the mail (ordered it at the end of May), as well as the registration packet.

I also bit the bullet and got a hotel room for Friday night. Wish I would have done this sooner to take advantage of the promo discount. It wasn't cheap, but I think it'll be worth it as opposed to leaving the west side of the state at the crack of down.

Let's all cross our fingers and hope for good clear weather for next weekend in the meantime.
