    Default New to fox bodies.

Hey All, first time on Four Eyed Pride, first time fox body owner as well. Not new to forums so hopefully the attachments of the cars post.

White car is a 1985 GT was built by a PO with drag racing in mind. Tubular k member, tubular Arms, was told it was a 306 with F303 can, GT40 heads, RPM intake with AVS2 650 carb. World Class T5 transmission, coil overs in the front, passenger side rear has a Steeda drag spring and air bag, drivers side has a Eibach spring. Lakeland drag bar lower control arms, adjustable upper control arms. 4.10 with a spool and strange axles with C clip eliminators. Had drag lites on it and I sold them for as I like ponies.

Silver car is a 1984 LX convertible, originally a CFI v6, converted to carb at some point in the past. I just got this car this past weekend with a blown head gasket. Car is bone stock. This will be a father son project. Plan is to swap drivetrain from GT to the LX and do a restore job on the LX with street car in mind. GT, not exactly sure yet. All the previous owners have really hacked up the wiring harnesses as well as other parts. May clean it up best I can and drop a different motor in it, not sure yet.

Very nice pair. All kinds of good things to do with those. Like a new hood. If the gt is a mess perhaps an autocross car? Try to find a light weight engine for it?

Yeah I was thinking something like that. Maybe drop 351 in it, or autocross it. There is a few places around me I know I could do that. I have never really done any racing though so I wouldn't know where to start. But it would be fun to build something once I get the LX finished.

Autocross is super easy to get into. Check out your local scca region. 60 bucks and you can race. Without much money you can make a fox body very competitive. And even if it isn't competitive it's always fun.

The important part is to have fun.
I have done a lot of running over the years and your real competition is against yourself. Not that it matters, but I am typically in the top quarter or so overall in runs/races and top third for age category.
Treat autocross the same. Do your best, have fun, and really just compete against your expectations.
    IF you go that route...

Welcome to the pride! I really like the '84. Mine is the same color. This will be a really cool project with your son.
