    Default Hello All!

Hey I知 new here. Name is Taylor and I知 in the Orting, WA area.

I have a mostly restored automatic 1981 Ghia with the I6. Was my grandfather痴 from the day it rolled off the lot to the day he passed away. My father acquired it at that point and started to restore it, as it was sitting for years at that point. The exterior was already immaculate but the engine and interior needed work. Had the engine rebuilt and interior refurbished and it looks brand new again. It was passed on to me a couple years ago. It still has its issues here and there that I知 slowly ironing out which is how I came across this forum and will probably be spending a lot of time on.

Welcome to the forum. Please post up pictures, especially any from when your grandfather bought it. Great history on the car!

Taylor welcome . My car is also a 1981 with an inline 6 , 200cid / 3.3 . I would be interested in engine pictures and a pic of the exhaust manifold .

Welcome! Tell us about the options; my favorite Ghias have the Moonroof and Leather options. Pics?

I’m having trouble uploading pics, I will try again after the holidays. I’ve simplified the engine compartment quite a bit and am getting ready to do a deep clean and degrease.

Figured it out. Had to resize the photos.
Can you believe that paint is nearly 40 years old? Unfortunately it's not original. A little more car/family history. My grandfather was in a very minor accident back in '83 or '84 and had my uncle repaint the entire care in his garage. He did a great job.

Welcome aboard. You will like it here. Six cylinder Foxes were the single most plentiful step up option, and most common engine for the first 4 years of the long wheel base Fox car variants from 1978 on wards, and most of the 79 to 82 Mustang/Capris. Then the much better 5.0 became plentiful again. Thank goodness.

    See http://vb.foureyedpride.com/showthre...-spec-Bcode-I6.

Disregard the oxygen sensor pictures, including the Red Warning light. Picture 27 and 28 are the JDM Oxygen Sensor warning lights, mandated by Japan's MIT. Another guy here from Japan has a JDM Carriage Roof 80 Mustang 4.2 liter with the same light off catalyst wiring.

More pics. For options, yes was factory leather, but we had them redone a some years ago. Manual windows. Manual moonroof with the original cover/bag for it (see it in the trunk pic). Factory stereo amplifier. Have the original trunk pull-out cover.

This was not my first fox by the way. I had a white '89 LX 5.0 about 12 years ago. Was also in great condition and had roughly 180,000 miles on it. Was automatic, but my brother an I swapped in a 5-speed and shortly after my brother borrowed it and totaled it. Had major front end damage, so ended up selling as is. My parents are also Mustang lovers and have had plenty over the years, and spent countless hours at Ford and Mustang specific car shows all over the Washington area.
