    Default AC Compressor Wiring

I'm trying to get the AC going again on my '85 (it's been disconnected since I got it), but I'm stuck. I got a new pigtail for the compressor connection, but I have no idea what wires it hooks up to, and I'm completely illiterate with electrical diagrams. Can anyone show me where the wires connect to the harness? Thank you!

That should just be a ground and a signal from the A/C Clutch Cycling Pressure Switch (which is located on the AC drier at the firewall on the pass side).

I believe on the carbureted models you have the wiring coming from the accumulator going to the carburetor WOT cut off and then to the compressor itself. It's been awhile since I have seen a stock wiring, so my recollection may not be 100%. I know I used OEM wiring on my 79 PC when I converted it to A/C and the 5.0, I am pretty sure the wiring was not wrapped up inside the harness with other wiring, but essentially almost stand alone.

Thank y’all very much. I’m digging through the wiring rats nest, but I think I’m on the right track.

Buy the " Electrical & Vacuum trouble shooting guide" for your year car... I have one for my 83 and I use it all the time.... Should be one on Ebay...

My 83 had the " hot " wire come into the electrical connection that sits on the intake.
That wire went to the solenoid on the carb.. It turns on the solenoid for a faster idle when your AC is on....
Where the hot wire came into the connection it came back out ( two wires into the same spot) and went to the AC pressure switch on the accumulator..
THEN a wire came back from the AC pressure switch to the connector ( different spot on it) and that is the wire that goes to your compressor...
    Hope my explanation makes sense.....

Abe books also has used books. I've gotten EVTMs and manuals from them.
