    Default DIY Insulating Paint

    Hello All,

I met a guy that hand-built the aluminum body for his roadster. He made his own thermal insulating paint by mixing latex-based outdoor/roof paint with microscopic ceramic spheres that are cheaply available online:

He says it does a great job of keeping his feet cooler than they'd be without it.

It's gonna be a while but my son and I are doing this on the floor pan, firewall, and rear hatch area of his 85 GT.

Just thought I'd share in case anyone was looking for a much less expensive alternative to buying the pre-mixed stuff.
