    Default Wiring Harness Woes

My 85 GT, having been parked for nearly 30 years, suffered some mouse damage to the wiring going into my Duraspark ignition module. Questions:

    1. Has anyone ever built their own new, complete wiring harness, and if so, can you share some details?[
    2. Is there a way to bench test the Duraspark module to see if it's working properly?

    Thanks in advance!

I rebuilt the harness from the Duraspark to the distributor as the one that I used for the engine swap had little insulation left on the wires. I started with the Duraspark harness from Painless (Summit and Amazon have it for less than $90). It includes the coil clip and wiring. I had to do some slight medications using the original as a template, as the Painless harness was designed to used in a car that didn't come with Duraspark originally. I also added the water temp and oil pressure wires to the harness since those wires were also getting bare.

Have rebuilt the main alt harness to voltage regulator years ago. All is well.
Added many new or repaired circuits as needed over the years.
If splicing, marine heat shrink tubing works well. HF sells a multi size kit.
An automatic wire stripper helps preserve strands for a successful lasting repair.
A hydraulic crimper would be handy to do a new lug, to say, a main starter cable.
Premade harness should have coded wires.
Helps to keep notes for future reference.
