    Default Resistor on the back of the gage cluster, 1985 LTD

    Battery light is on, the lt/green red wire that goes to the alternator through the light/resistor only has 3 1/2 volts going to it. I'm getting 12V on the red/lt.green from the switch to the light/resistor. The resistor shows being open, anyone know what value that is supposed to have so I can replace it as I think that is the culprit.

    Is it that funky voltage regulator thingy that turns it to 6v for the dash?
    1984.5 G.T.350 5.0 CFI AOD Convertible (TRX package, loaded)

    Maximum Motorsports caster/camber plates and strut tower brace, 3.73 rear, dura grip (both Yukon)
    Ford Performance Springs, Firehawk A/S 225/55r16 on LMR TRX r390 wheels (street)
    Federal 595 rs-rr 245/40r17 and 255/40r17 on OE cobra r wheels (race)
    AOD rebuilt with a 6 clutch direct drum, Koline steels stacked with 8 clutches, Kevlar band, superior shift kit, new torque converter. --Everything else stock and fully functional.

    No, just the resistor that still lets power go to exciter wire on the alternator if the bulb burns out.

    I'm only getting 3.5volts to that green/red wire...., but I did find that resistor is 500 ohm.
