    Default Starter will not start

    82 Carpi 5.0

Starter bendix will not engage, turn or click when trying to start car from ignition. Insert key and the buzzer sounds. Turn key and Starter relay clicks and then every is dead. No buzzing, no starter relay click.

I have replaced the starter relay and tested by jumping to the start terminal. Hear the click
I removed the starter and had it tested at NAPA. Appears to be good.
Wire from Solenoid to starter visually inspected and looks good
    New battery.

    Starter reinstalled and same issue.

Any ideas what is going on?

Final note... Car has set for a year waiting for me to replace water pump. but was starting/running at that time.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Have you tried to turn the engine over manually?

I've had a similar issue before where I'd try to start it and it would click and everything would shut down. If I remember correctly for me it was one of my battery terminals. It had a decent enough connection that made everything seem like it was working but the moment I tried to draw power from the battery to turn the starter it just couldn't do it. Maybe a quick clean up of your terminals and ensure they are tight would help here.
