    Default 1986 GT Convertible

I live between Austin and Houston TX i have a lower mileage 1986 Mustang GT Convertible. The car is not rusted but it needs paint and interior because it was sat out in a field covered for years. I've had it on the road for 3 years now, she runs and drives perfect everything works. The other week i was letting the top down and I didn't know my son had a toy behind the seat and i shattered the rear glass. I ordered a new glass panel from LMR and it came with the whole vinyl panel that has to be stapled in. I looked online for instructions and i cannot find anything. I even bought Ford manual that shows tons of great info on adjustment and troubleshooting for the convertible foxbodys, but does not tell how to install the panel. I called 2 different shops and they are clueless too and told me 5 to 700 just for the rear window panel replacement. Do you guys know anyone who can do this job for a reasonable amount or does anyone have a video or detailed instructions. I have seen multiple people online who had theirs replaced for 200 labor but none were here in Texas and i have only lived here for 3 years so i don't know many people here.

You are dealing with shops who don't want your business. I paid $160 for the plastic window and $100 to have it installed.

That is not an easy job as the top part of the rear window is stapled to the rear bow with the top stapled on top of that.

Here is a pic before install.

And there is a photo of the window stapled in place here....
