Wanting a T5 behind the 200 6cyl. I'd like to use a foxbody bellhousing so I can install factory cable clutch.
From what I've read, 78 200 is not a dual pattern for bell housings.
Can I use a 79-93 t5 with an adapter plate?

If I remember correctly, the starter is in the wrong location on the engine (high vs low-mount) to use be able to use the Fox 5.0 T5 bell.
The late 200 I6 blocks did have the starter in the correct location, and share 2/3 of the mounting holes of the 5.0 bell.
Years ago I was looking at doing the Aussie XF X-Flow head on a US 200 block. I had a late 200 block I was going to use.
You *might* be able to use the stock 200 manual bellhousing to do the swap, but I'm not sure how long the input shaft is on the 4spds that were used by the factory.

Are you just wanting the overdrive? Why not an SROD? They have a 0.70:1 OD gear. There should be factory parts available and the 3.3/6 shouldn't pose a problem from a power standpoint.
Already have a t5, and another Fairmont with a T5, I like how they shift, ratios, and parts availability.
If I can find a srod bellhousing that was on a I6 foxbody, I could modify it to work.
Looks like my other option is earlier I6 bellhousing, adapter listed above, and a cable conversion so I can use foxbody clutch.
OK, that's understandable.
