    Default TR3650 swap?

I just got my hands on a bellhousing adapter that is supposed to allow bolting a tr3650 or t45 to a Windsor motor. I may or may not end up doing the swap, but it sounds interesting. I'm just curious if any of you have done it. I think the biggest hurdle is getting a working speedo. You can buy a gps device that converts the signal to cable, but they're a little spendy. I'd have to figure out the starter and clutch fork setup too, but those might be simple.

Is it a 4.6 to SBF adapter plate or some kind of custom full bellhousing? I'm certainly no expert on the 3650, but I thought the bellhousing on those was a little more integral with the trans. I know Hanlon makes an adapter plate to allow for bolting a 3650 to a T5 bellhousing. Do you have any more details on what it is?

It is an adapter plate that allows the 3650 bell to bolt to the windsor block.

Ah interesting. I suppose it could be pretty cost efficient if you could find a good used trans for cheap. From when I was researching the 3650 it seemed like some people loved them and some people did not. I think they are supposed to be pretty strong, but like any trans they do have their weak points. Of course you have the issues with getting a working speedo. In the end I think I finally have just decided to go with a TKX when the time comes.

I believe I will be going the tkx route in one of my cars, as well.

Repair parts can add up quickly in any transmission... Next thing you know you coulda bought a new TKX for what you have into an old outdated transmission..
