Default Neutral safety switch connectors location

    Hey all,

Converting 86 V6 auto convertible over to a V8 manual. What harness are the 2 connectors for the clutch pedal switches on? I have the dashboard out of the car and cannot see them on the dash or body harnesses. Driving me nuts.

I believe the clutch pedal safety switch connectors are on the main body harness for the V8 cars. I don't remember if the V6 was available with a manual, so there's a chance the harness may not have any connectors for a clutch neutral safety switch. I might be wrong, but there are some significant differences between the harnesses between the different engine/transmission options even within the same year model.

Most likely you should be able to use the neutral safety wiring that went to the NSS on the automatic transmission and modify them to work with a clutch pedal switch. That will most likely be the easiest option if you don't have anything in the harness for the clutch pedal assembly. Good Luck!

Looking at the brochure, the V6 was only available with the slushbox.
