Default Full vacuum in the carter, with the pcv unhooked.

Trying to diagnose where oil consumption comes from, suspect the valve stem seals.

Second issue is that cylinders 2,3 and 7 don't fire.

Lifted the passenger side valve cover. Everything looks and moves good. (Let it run to check the rockers movement.)
    Put cover back on.

Then noticed the hose on the passenger valve cover sucking lots of air, while the pcv valve was disconnected from the vacuum hose going to bottom of the throttle body.

Planning to lift the RPM airgap manifold. Suspect there is a leak path from the intake side to the side that closes of the engine valley.

Anyone that has had a similar issue?
    Thanks in advance,
    Hans.

Found posts on the Vintage Mustang forum describe the issue caused by leaking gaskets on the intake ports.
    Going to pull the intake.
The engine responded to brake cleaner spray in that area.

Found the cause, see the intake gaskets: they delaminated. But only in the middle, around the heat riser ports.
Don't understand how this is possible yet.
You can see oil being sucked in the intake runners.

    Hi Hans,

Aluminum intake, Iron heads? Different expansion rates is hard on old paper gaskets. Get new ones with silicone seals. Don’t know a part number at the moment.

Mr Gasket #5834 has silicon rings around the ports. Also, secure the end cork gaskets with RTV silicone. I’ve had them work themselves completely out from between the manifold and the block.

    Thanks William for the advice.
Currently cleaning the parts while waiting on UPS to deliver the gaskets

Yes, stock heads with airgap manifold.
