    Default MM firewall adjuster

I'm gathering pieces for a T5 swap. Looking at the MM firewall cable adjuster. It is described as being for 1982-2004 vehicles. Is there a reason it couldn't be used on a '79-81 Foxbody? I have the pedalbox out of a later model Mustang if that makes a difference.

Am using the stock manual clutch cable setup in my 79 w/T5. Same one used with the RAD 4 speed it had.
Rarely need to adjust it. 1/2 hour job at the most. Lift car, wrench lock nuts a 1/4 turn or so in.
Of course, other years have different requirements as to parts combos.
Firewall adj sounds convenient. Too much added work for me.

YES you can. I am using the MM setup in my 79 PC that has the later model pedal box and a T5 conversion. Works just fine.

With the pedal box you are fine. Pre that style the clutch was a 'direct pull' style with no quadrant. with the later pedal assembly you're good.

So, I ordered this part and it's back ordered. 3 weeks, possibly more.

Just me but you may want to order the firewall adjuster, adjustable clutch cable and billet quadrant. I have this on both of my Foxes and money well spent. BBK makes good ones and you can find them cheaper than what BBK sells them for.

Mustang Adj Clutch Cable & Quadrant Kit (79-95) (bbkperformance.com)

I cannot vouch for any other brands but there are others on the market.

I have tried different quadrants, cables, and firewall adjusters over the years. I will say the MM kit is the best option that I have used to date. Definitely sucks it being on back order, but unfortunately that seems to be the nature of the beast as of late with virtually everything I have been ordering automotive related. MM is usually pretty good on getting stuff made and shipped out. I know their Clutch cable kit uses the OEM Ford clutch cable and that has been a supply issue lately. Not sure about the other parts. Good Luck!

I've got a good used OEM cable and the pedal box came with a Ford Racing aluminum quadrant. I also have a bezel(?) for a non-console stick shift car. Might have to fab a base to attach it to. I think the adjuster is the final piece.

    gmatt,
You are in great shape then. Difference between the aluminum quadrant and the plastic OEM one is night and day.
