Default TRW 2 piece p/s rack inner tie rods

I’ve been restoring this guys 82 GT and he insisted on sending out/rebuilding his TRW rack. Took 7 months and finally got it back. He supplied me a Kmart (LMR) inner/outter tie rod kit and it seems one of these inners needs to be longer. I of course, tossed the old ones months ago. Anyone have any experience with these?

    Or, ....

Never throw away the old stuff. Period.

Cause you'll never need it until after you've thrown it away.

Anyone else have any ideas besides building a time machine not to throw out my
    Old parts?

I may try sn95 inner/out as the sn95 is longer

I don't think I've ever run into a Fox needing 2 different length tie rods.

Sounds to me like something else is amiss.

Something definitely doesn't seem right. Can you expand further on why you think you need one longer inner tie rod end?

Stupid question but is the pinion shaft centered in the body of the rack? Did you get the correct unit back?

Yes it’s centered and correctly and it’s the same unit, but this rack is shorter on the passenger side vs a 1pc. Sn95 inners fixed my problem

I call shenanigans. You shouldn't need different length tie rods.

You say "restoring", so I'm assuming no crazy upgrades, correct?

I would count # of turns from center to lock on each side, just to verify.

Kind of sounds like the rebuilder mucked it up.
