Default Clutch Interlock Switch - 83 Turbo RS

Trying to start the Turbo RS after sitting for a while. I suspect the starter is bad since nothing happens when I connect across the solenoid terminals. However, there is no power to the red/blue wire at the solenoid when the key is turned to the start position. I get power to the pink/blue wire at the ignition switch when the key is turned to start. The shorting strap at the transmission is ok. I cannot find the clutch interlock switch to check it. The mechanism is not at the top of the clutch pedal like my 85s, and I don’t see any loose red/blue wires. Did the 83s have a clutch interlock switch? Any suggestions for where to look or what I’m missing? Thanks in advance.

I believe 1983 was the first year for the clutch switch if my memory is correct. For some reason, I also want to think that at one point the switch was on the opposite side of the clutch pedal from the later models, but I may not be correct on that one. This getting old sucks!

Thanks, Trey. I tracked down the wiring schematic for the 83s and it does not show a clutch switch. I did find the switch on the 85 schematic. Guess I have a bit more troubleshooting ahead.

Hmm I thought 83 was the first year with the introduction of the T5, but maybe not.

Then you should have the switch in the transmission case rather than the switch on the pedal assembly. You might try unplugging the connector from the transmission and check for power and if you have power, jump the pigtail and see if that allows the starter to engage.
