I'm pretty sure that you will have to cut with any single DIN radio, I know that's what I had to do with mine.
I like the idea of going retro. An old school 3-hole like you have or maybe an Alpine. You can add a bluetooth device if you like. Either use an fm converter or add an amp that has built-in bluetooth. There are several different ways to do it.
79 Pace Car - 331, t5
79 Pace Car- 302, 4 spd
79 Cobra - working on 351w, t5
82 Capri- working on 302, t5

I wouldn't cut it unless you have to
79 Zephyr, 4.6L 4v/4r70w swap, with team z front and rear suspension, 8.8 and upgraded brakes and coil overs. Running Holley Terminator X Max.
If you don't need or want the look and functions of a new single DIN, there here is an option for you.

Definitely not a cheap option, but it does preserve the OEM dash if that matters to you. Stereos offer virtually all the features of new units, but in an old style look. I have no personal experience, so I can't comment on that aspect. I plan on using one for my 1982 Capri RS restomod to keep it look as OEM as possible. Good Luck!

My stock radio is purely for looks. It isn't attached to the speakers, instead the speakers are tied to a blue tooth amp under the passenger seat. I can then stream from my phone and change the songs with my watch.
