Default What gear oil do you prefer in an 8.8

Hello I just acquired a 87-88 turbocoupe 8.8 and am trying to decide what gear oil and which weight to run. It’s going in an 83 mustang and will be used as a fair weather car.

First off the weight, does it really matter whether I use 75w90 or 75w140?

Secondly which brands do you all like?
Redline Lucas amsoil royal purple etc?

    Thanks

Any synthetic 75-90 is good. Some rear differentials do better with non-synthetic (Yukon Tru Trac for example). In a standard type 8.8, I like Valvoline synthetic.
You can use dino, but the price isn't a huge difference for better protection and lubrication.
Any of thos name brands are very good though.

I use the Valvoline full synthetic 75-140 for limited slip.
I’ve never had the clutches chatter with this gear oil.
