Default Owners of Cervini's, Trufiber and HO Fibertrends cowl hoods, COME ON IN!

I am debating on buying a new cowl hood for my 85 GT and have narrowed down the possibilities to offerings from Cervini's, Trufiber and HO Fibertrends. I am also debating on either 2.5" or 4" (hoping I have enough clearance for a 2.5"). I am kindly requesting pics of your cars (83 through 86 only) with these hoods and also if you could please state what brand and size cowl the hood is? Reviews of quality and fitment are also welcomed. I appreciate it greatly! Thanks!

I will have to find pictures since I don't have the car anymore. Mine was the Cervini 2.5" cowl on a 1986 Mustang GT. Very good quality, fit, and overall finish. Like all fiberglass parts, I highly recommend blocking out the hood before going to paint to get everything as flat and straight as possible. Generally in my experience (5 Cervini hoods 2 truck hoods, and 3 Mustang hoods) All have taken 1-2 sessions of high build primer and block sanding to be ready for paint. That will give you a very high quality look and reflection if you cut and buff your paint. Better than "factory" finish.

I don't think you can go wrong with any of the hoods listed and I personally have considered going with one of the HO Fibertrends hoods myself, but that project isn't ready for it just yet! Best of luck!

Cervini 2.5" 17 years old never painted properly until this year. It is pinned but I also have the latch. It does hit my wiper arm a bit.

There are others that are wider but I really find mine fits the best. Name: s11 (3).jpg

Anymore opinions/updates on these? I’ve had 2 Cervinis cowl hoods, but on an 88 and 89.Excellent fit and finish. I’m interested in the 85/86 hoods. Not too big though. 2” - 3” cowl max.

Mine is 15 years old, sat through winter, summer, etc. They are a quality piece. The last pictures are after he sanded through the previous owners spray bomb.(I've owned the car since 2009)
