    Default Power Brake Booster

Ford no longer sells these and I need one.
I have been looking at the aftermarket. Cardone (through Autozone) has two listed for the 84GT. I am trying to figure out which one is correct. Anyone ever used one? Or, have you purchased any from Budget, Advanced Auto, Murray's, etc.?

    Any assistance is appreciated

I would upgrade to the later dual-diaphram 87-93 5.0 Booster. The pre 87 boosters were all single (not sure on SVO). They hold a little more vacuum.

    I assume it's a 100% direct swap.

I plan on putting the booster from my '88 in my '85 when i upgrade the brakes with leftovers from my '88. Of course the snow needs to melt first

What would be needed as part of the conversion?

Does anyone know if this is a swap?

    Just the actual booster.

    I'm 99.9% sure it's just a direct swap.

I have a 95GT booster in my car (even larger than a FOX) and that was basically a direct swap as well....aside from slotting the holes. But that was pretty much specific to a SN95 to fox booster swap.

With the late model fox booster swap, should fit like a glove

The problem that I am running into is the multiple part #'s for the same part. I am not concerned with going OE, since I plan to do more with the car.

What are the pro's/con's of making said swap?

I swapped a 90 booster into my 85 and didn't see any differences. I thought mine was bad but wasn't.
