    Default Garrett T3/T4 install question

I ordered a new Garrett turbo last week. It was less than rebuilding my original T3. My question is has anyone installed one on their SVO and what pointer’s do you have.

I am keeping the stock VAM and I suspect that the inlet ductwork is going to need modification.

What model turbo, and is it similar to the stock turbo? Are you using the factory intercooler, is it water cooled, are you going to run the factory internal wastegate? Once these are know we will be able to better help you.

I am in the process of putting a Precision turbo on my SVO, but nothing about it is stock.

Good morning. It’s the Boport turbo that can use the factory mounts and oil lines. It does not have cooling lines which I’ve already addressed. It will allow me to bolt up the factory exhaust in place.

The link is for the Boport turbo.

That should just about bolt in then and allow you to use the factory down pipe elbow, and intercooler (may have the loosen the compressor bolts to clock the outlet).

For the inlet pipe you will have to measure the outer diameter of the VAM and turbo inlet to see what kind of piping will be required, also you need to decide if you want to keep the factory style breather line or do something different. I found an aluminum IC piping off of Amazon that you could easily use to make a new i take pipe.

I like your ideas. I have the fmic from stinger and was mostly interested in the inlet piping. I also found some black 3” inlet piping fromAmazon but wasn’t sure what anyone else used.
