    Default Oil pump driveshaft question

Hello all, I just had my SVO engine overhauled. I installed the distributor in yesterday and found the driveshaft wasn’t installed. I ordered a new driveshaft but don’t know if it can be installed without pulling the oil pump.

    Any ideas?

If I recall I think u don’t need to pull the oil pump out. Just push the hex piece into the oil pump.. please replace your small ‘roll pin’ that holds your distributior gear on the distributor. Years ago I had a oil pump lock up and it caused a shutdown at 60 mph. It broke the roll pin in the distributor . So replace it now just in case it’s frail and been stressed from the years .. todd
