Picked up some new carb studs and a carb base gasket. Got a 1" phenolic spacer on the way, and I want to be ready for it. Here's hoping 2-1/2 studs are long enough but not TOO long, and I can brainstorm around that weird cutout in the gasket.

Edit: 1" was just too much, so now I got that cluttering up my box of parts. Live and learn, I guess.

    Default 2.3 intake work

Noticed other day during routine under hood check, one intake manifold to cyl head bolt was missing.
#1 intake runner top bolt to cyl head.
Will never know why it was missing and what happened.
Needed another bolt. Ford shop manual said M8 1.75 30mm.
Can you believe quickly found a used oe flange bolt in the parts box that fit exactly?
Maybe one day the missing bolt was found laying loose by the dist, saved, but origin was unknown till now?
Looks like the others. The patina matched, fit a 13mm socket like the others.
One of those rare repairs that defiantly justifies saving a few good used take off parts like factory fasteners.
Was easy to install. Straight shot using a socket extension.

Starting to prep replacement 2.3 n/a intake manifold.
Need connections for vac. PCV, brake booster, vac gauge, check clearances/routing around components.
Order open style 1/2" aluminum carb spacer.
Work out intake coolant flow, which is configured differently.
May use an intake gasket from 84-85 LTD/Marquis 2.3 LPG engines, which block off the intake water at the cyl head.
Do everything ahead of time before removing current carb turbo manifold and turbo assy.
    Can hardly wait!

Finally sucked it up and removed my tie rods, front springs and a arms. Been putting it off due to being hesitant to remove springs by myself for the first time. Went pretty good and everything came out with out any major problems. Now for some paint and installing new caster camber plates, arms, springs and tie rods.

Ordered a cheap single din Android head unit with touch screen. Plan on running Shadow Dash on it, stereo and gauges wrapped up in one unit.

Leather wrapped my steering wheels. One on the right is the stock sport wheel that came with the car. The cover gives a nice feel to the wheel, but not quite a thick as a factory wrapped wheel.

The one on the left is a factory leather wrapped sport wheel that covered with another leather wrap. I like the feeling of the factory leather wheel as thickness of this wheel feels more like a modern wheel. With the added leather, it is close to the thickness of my 2017's steering wheel.

I installed a set of RMS LED headlights and a set of Red Line hood struts.

All I need to do is swap out my Borla mufflers for a set of Spintech's and my car is done for cruise season.

Pulled all of the engine/trans wiring out of the car and started laying the Holley harnesses. I'm not super happy with the fit, going to call Holley tomorrow and see if i can send mine back for some unterminated harnesses.
