I have an idea to make the air compressor work. I’ll post pictures as I progress on it.

    In a word Mike, NO.

Having said that, if anyone knows how to install the front cover on the compressor, please let me know.

I have not messed with that specific compressor, but most are just pressed on and retained by a front bolt or nut if the shaft is threaded. You should be able to rent the tools are your local auto parts store. Generally very similar in practice to installing the pulley on a PS pump. I might be wrong, but pretty sure that is how it should work on that one too. Good Luck!

Thanks for the diagram. It helps a little. The hub rubs against the clutch and I believe I either need more spacers or a different one.

I’ll call Ranchu next week to find out what my options are.

A little weekend update. I installed the engine without the transmission. That will come later this week or weekend. I purchased the third/cougar engine mounts and hope their in right.

Looking good. As for the AC, you should have about a matchbook space between the hub and clutch. I'm sure there is a more specific clearance spec, but that should get you close enough. Item #8 are the shim(s) that are used to achieve the necessary spacing.

I spoke to Ranchu and they said I need to purchase a shim kit. Unfortunately they did not know what kit will work. I am going to look for something locally that I can make fit. As for the space, they said 10 to 15 thousands gap.

Well I managed to install the transmission. It’s difficult without a lift and up only 2’ off the ground. I had to lift it in place and push it in by hand. I have a quick tip for you. If You can’t get it in the last inch, Have someone press the clutch slowly while you’re pushing the transmission in. It’s the second time I’ve done it and it works quite well.

Well I returned from holidays and got back to work today. I have begun installing the turbo. Yes I wanted to install it before engine installation but the timing didn’t work. I need to find the fitting for the oil inlet line before going much further. You may notice the turbo inlet is 4” in size which is another thing I need to work on.

Another update. I had to fabricate a bracket support for the VAM. I have a few fit-up issues with the internal wastegate and hope to have it resolved in the next few weeks. The radiator took a bit of work but it seems to work with the factory fan.

This weekend I finished the turbo install and began working on the stinger FMIC. I see that it’s too far in front and worried that it’s not going to fit without major mods. The Instructions mentioned I need to move the AC condenser back an inch. Unfortunately, I need to move it back 2”. If anyone had done this install, please contact me and let me know what you did.

I trimmed the air conditioning cooler brackets and modified the upper intercooler brackets to move the Intercooler back.

    Let’s see if it works.

It’s getting closer now. I’m a little concerned about cutting the headlight panel so I’ll wait for someone who has installed one before making the final cut.
