Can anyone tell me what color the netting is supposed to be on the recaro headrest?

Just checked mine and it is black, exact same shade as the headrest.

I take it yours is original? I own 2 pace cars and neither look black. I also distinctly remember my cousin's 2 pace cars and his netting didn't look black. If the oem color is supposed to be black, I'm going to presume I'm just used to seeing what happens to them when they fade over time.

Yeah both pairs I have weren't black either. This pair sat in a heated barn for 30 years so should be close to original color.

If you look at old original pictures of the Recaro interiors you can see the headrest netting is black. Unfortunately age, sunlight, oxidation, and general deterioration of the netting causes it to look white/grey/etc over time. Recaro did offer colored netting, but none of the OEM Ford Recaros used anything but black netting.

Well, doing them up in black is definitely the easiest solution. So that's the good news. I really like the neutral/aged faded color though. The netting in both my cars are different (evidently just different stages of deterioration). My first car, the seats weren't in terrible shape.. .mainly just worn fabric. The netting is brown/tan in color and wasn't torn or brittle. The other car, netting is grey and completely coming apart. You can tear it easily. It's obviously more deteriorated than the first one. I'm guessing it a spent more time baking in the sun.

If you're wanting to know what netting here is a link for white netting, same diamond dimension. You just have to dye black (or whatever color you want) before installation. https://www.ahh.biz/mesh/mesh_nylon_12mm_diamond.php. I put this in my pace car seats when I was restoring them.

Thanks for posting this link. Yes, this is what I ordered. By the way...great company to deal with!

Just curious how much did you order? I have a set of recaro's that I recently picked up for a decent price and will need to replace the netting on both headrests. Also, what did you use to dye them black?
