    Default Motorcraft Battery Topper

You see battery toppers for older cars but never for ones the age of ours.
As most restorationists (not a word) know, I reproduced the top stickers years ago.
And they can be printed for free from my website.
Painting the battery and adding the stickers probably voids the warranty.

Back in 2014 I decided to finish the project and make the raised lettering that is on the
top of the battery. Well I cut out the letters and that was as far as I got.
They have been kicking around my garage since then.
So for my new battery I decided to make a topper.

Cutting out the letters out of plastic is hard to do. If you have more patience than me you could
do better. I made the base out of a plastic placemat and the letters are cut out of a plastic waste basket.
Painted the base with cloth and vinyl paint, added the stickers and coated the whole thing with a matte clear.
Some day I will add a proper "how to" to my site. But remember, it took me seven years to get this far!
Lots of FREE F/Z info on my site.

Check your local craft and hobby stores for adhesive lettering. I was able to find something very close.

That is awesome. More pics please! I'm one of those weirdos who cares what the battery looks like too. I hate how most brands do them in these bright (WRONG) colors now. It just looks stupid. At least Motorcraft batteries are still black.

That is really good. I will have to look into that. Do they have different sizes?

At the Mercury Cougar-AMX Javelin show yesterday almost every Cougar had an Autolite Battery Topper installed. One AMX had an American Motors topper that looked like it was made in a 3D printer.

I wrote up the "How To" for my Battery Topper and added it to my web site.
You can get directly to it by clicking the picture below.

Some of the AMC / Mopar stuff comes from https://weskcar.com/
They do some Ford vent caps & decals as well.

Great job RED 78'. I had one of those Autolite battery toppers on my '69 Cougar when I had it. I always wondered if someone would eventually make one for these cars.
