clutch cable pulling to rear,not front

i have a 460/t10 with a fork that needs to go to rear.
using a long cable that goes down and to the rear of fork.
it gets bracketed on the end and then goes to the fork.
makes a 180 loop.
will the cable hold up with that bend???

My $.02 for what its worth is NO. Long term the cable will not hold up and/or work as well as it should. Could it be made to work, probably, but I think the issue will be finding a cable that is flexible enough for the 180 degree bend, but strong enough for the amount of pressure it has to be able to handle to operate the clutch fork properly. I also don't know how you will be able to get a bend that is gentle enough to work under the car without the cable getting in the way or too close to exhaust, etc.

If you want to stay with your current bellhousing, most likely you will need to fabricate some type of lever system similar to the Dog Bone setup on the SVO Mustangs. See the pictures below. Not sure what it would take or if it's even possible with your current bellhousing. Good Luck!

thanks much, you are confirming my concerns.
although i have made a solid bracket to mount the cable end behind the fork
and have it routed pretty well,it still is a tight bend compared to a front approach.
i really like the lever way and wish i had thought of it b4.
ill have a look at my tran possibilities for that. it should work with a short cable,,,
which i also have in my collection.!!
ill get some pix next...
