Default Light switch diagram? Please help

    Hey everyone,

my tail lights are out in my 86, yet every other light works fine. I replaced the switch and still they aren’t working so it must be the wires.
the problem? I’ve searched the internet for days looking for a simple diagram of what pin is connected to what, but can’t find a single thing, no on this forum, not on any other mustang forum or on google images or anything. I just need to know which wire is connected to which light. If anyone can help please do because I can’t drive my car at night anymore because of this and it’s just annoying

If that link shows you a calendar page, the select the March 7th with your mouse and it will show you a timestamp. click on it and you'll get the PDF.

Had some weirdness with my cars back lights a while ago.
Turn signals, tail lights, brake lights, running lights, u name it. Random too.
Couple bad sockets, wire connections, grounds.
Real problem and solution fix was in the back area of the car.
Black ground wires are a start. Then 12v power.
Age and factory wire interconnections make things complicated. Looks simple few wires is not.
I used a probe test light, multimeter, wiring diagrams, and the console warning graphic to diagnose.

Imagine the new cars 35+ years from now....

Two things. First check the socket for a 12v input, second, check the bulbs. It's easy to overlook the obvious since you haven't mentioned the bulbs.
