Default New clutch fork pivot ball

I am replacing the clutch fork pivot ball in my 83 5 liter 4 speed car... The old one had a split lock washer on it, while NONE of the new ones come with a washer or a lock washer.. Anyone else seen this and should I use a lock washer on the new pivot ball?

    As always thanks

I've always had to shim the pivot stud with washers when replacing the clutch and flywheel. Maybe the factory stuff was a little thicker. Who knows. Shimming it will definitely give you some "meat" when setting it up. I think I typically just use flat washers and a couple drops of medium loctite.
