Default Were the mirrors painted from the factory?

My 79 Mustang Ghia has been repainted by a previous owner. The Paint doesn't adhere on the mirrors. It's flaking off.
I assume the mirrors should be black.
The other covers are painted bodycolor. That seems correct for a Ghia.
Like to know because of total repaint planner next year.
    Thanks.

    Ghia mirrors were body color.

The ones I have - one correct and one replacement - have the original body color ones molded not painted. I will be fully prepping and repainting them when I get to to that part of my project.

    Left is the original.

    Thanks for your help.
Then the mirrors will be painted zilver color like the covers ( sailpanels, ventilation air intake) to keep it original.
Added a pic showing the flaking mirrors. 2nd car in the right row.

I have a next color question for originality sake:
The painter that gave me a quote for the paintjob noticed the inside of the Hatch had been painted blue partially , like the interior that's blue also.
I'm pretty sure it came from the plant like that.
Does your car have that too?
Forgot to make a picture, sorry. It is night now, too dark.

Show a picture of the blue you’re describing when you can. Our tangerine car had black primer and the car didn’t have perfect coverage of it on the underside so you could see black in places. No blue though.

For the cowl grill between the wipers they were typically black like the rest of the trim. Even on our Ghia.

Our early tangerine 79s cowl grill was body colour but it seems pretty much all were black not body colour.

The pictures show the lower end of the Hatch is blue. Above and next to the window the rest is zilver like the outside color. Under the riveted Lock plate is also the blue Paint. No doubt it's factory. It's the only layer of paint on there.
    Regards.

    Come in GLX owners .
I probably never saw a GLX in real life.
    All Ghia's had painted mirrors.
    But nothing is certain here.
    Regards,
    Hans.
