    Default 2G alternator rectifier plug

Ok guys I’m wrapping up a engine reseal and general maintenance. I bought a new 2G alternator from rockauto that came with a 3 wire rectifier plug . My original was a 2 wire . Where does that 3rd wire go. The way my mechanic had it the alternator is not working. I know I can upgrade to a 3g but with the stock car and no mods I figured the factory amperage should be sufficient. So if I can make this work I would like to keep this alternator. Thanks

Not sure if this helps or not.

At one point Ford issued a TSB which called for replacement of the Gen 2 load connector after each time it was disconnected from the alternator due to fire hazard.

    Keep a fire extinguisher handy.
