    Default 85 302 Rebuild - Guidance Needed

    Hello All,

Rebuilding a 1985 GT carb'd engine. I'm taking off all the smog stuff, and changing to an Edlebrock AVS2 carb and Performer RPM intake.

I think I'm going to need a distributor. The AVS2 supports "timed and full vacuum advance".

Is anyone running this carb / intake combo, and if so, which vacuum are you running? What disty are you using?

Any and all responses are welcome.

You don't need to replace the duraspark distributor on your carb'd 85 GT. Just connect the vacuum advance to the timed advance port on the carb.
That's how mine is set up but with a 735 Holley and a Torquer 2 intake.
