    Default 86 gt hatch swap

I know the hatch will physically fit from a 91 on to my 86 gt , my question is about the wiring. The hatch I bought has no wiring in it at all. What does it connect to in the hatch and how do I swap it over??

Hatch wiring for a 1986 would require as a minimum the third brake light wiring. If the car has rear defroster and/or rear hatch release you would have wiring for that also.

Also keep in mind that the striker bolt is different on the 86 than the 91 and may require you to either swap out the latch mechanism or swap the striker bolt out for the 91 style. I personally would swap to the 91 striker bolt if the 91 hatch latch assembly is intact and good. Good Luck!
