Default Redoing my door panel, anyone know what this edge molding is called

I am redoing the bottoms of my door panels and would like to know what this edge molding is called and if anyone knows where I can get some.

    Thanks in advance.

That vinyl edge is sewn to the carpet. You can buy new carpet... it comes with the vinyl already attached. Easiest way to freshen up that area.

Thank you very much! I didn't think it was something they would have. I really appreciate the info.

You bet. Be sure to verify it’s for your application. There’s a wider version for the convertible panels and a thinner one for coupe/hatch models. The link I sent was for a convertible. Several vendors carry; NPD, LMR, Cj’s, etc.

I have one side on my vert done. Ended up stapling it after the spray adhesive lifted on the corners.

    Good luck with it.

Yeah, I ordered them from https://www.stockinteriors.com/AutoC...81&ModelId=201, I should have looked before I ordered, I ordered the convertible ones. I will see if I can call them on Monday and switch the order. Thank you for the heads up, I am sure I can change them. I didn't think there was as difference. I am still thankful for the info, at least I found the edge. lol

I’ve dwelt with them before. Shouldn’t be a big deal to fix over the phone.

Thanks for the tip on the staples too. I was going to glue the center and staple along the edges like it was. I am not replacing the board so maybe I will have the same glue issue.

Had good luck with these staples.

Not too long so they won’t poke out the front through the vinyl.

    Default 1985 GT Door Panels

Got the parts and installed, I added a touch of mine own. Not exactly my own idea, a buddy of mine has a roller in his garage with a similar touch. I am happy with them!

Thank you again for the assistance!

Wow, I didn't even know you could get these! I'm actually looking at creating new door panels for my Zeph. My old ones are warped, have holes for manual windows I no longer have, and have just been kind of abused over time with the various incarnations the car's gone through. I've probably had them off 100 times.

What I was thinking of doing was, I would just get pieces of mdf or whatever, cut them to size, and attach them to the metal upper part of my originals. Then I would just buy some fabric store vinyl, cut out the holes where needed, and then put some carpet on the bottom. Finish them off with aero speaker grilles. The main problem with that was making the carpet have a nice, finished look. I had no idea how I was going to accomplish that. I was even considering buying the ungodly expensive TMI complete door panels to solve the issue. But this is a MUCH better option! Thanks for the tip!

I like the red stripe on the door panel. That looks good! I might have to borrow that idea with my 86 Road Racer project.

Thank you very much! Yes of course - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B001E5VLEY...roduct_details this is where I got the piping, it comes in different diameters, I wanted it on the subtle side.
