Default Master cylinder for 84 Capri

    Hi,
A little different post than others asking about master cylinders. I've read a lot about the upgrades, what works together and doesn't etc. But I don't have any upgrades, just sick of the leaking brick 84 master cylinder. I've replaced it twice now in the last 8 years.

I have upgraded 87-93 spindles and brakes in the front, stock drums in the back. But the brick master cylinder keeps leaking from the top around the gasket. New gasket, new metal plate, even tried bending the retaining plate rod, but it still leaks.

So my question: I see the 87-93 has the weird 3rd port so I don't want one of those. Any downside to getting an 94-95 with the plastic reservoir and 2 ports? From what I can see on the Maximum Motorsports page it is 15/16 for the 94/94 Cobra, 1" for the 93 cobra and 1 1/16 for the 94-95 GT. Which is better for a stock replacement?

    Thanks

    Chris

The 94/95 Cobra would be the closest to the stock @21mm bore of the OEM M/C.

Have you tried using 2 gaskets?
