Just proud of the progress and thought I'd share. 95% done at this point. A/C is nice and cold after the total rehab of the system. Next up is seat upholstery and headrest repair or replace. I attempted to repair once without success.

Good looking car! Nice to see one preserved so well.
What are you going to do with the seat? I just went through this on my '84 vert. Had to weld the back frame shell as most of the spot welds had let go. Very solid now.
Where did you buy your a/c components? I need the dryer, liquid line, and low pressure hose.
Good work

Very kind of you to say, thank you!
I've decided I'm just going to get the seat foams and upholstery and redo them myself. I don't know if I can stomach almost $200 just for replacement halo headrests though. I need to do more research on the 'ol innerweb and see what I can find on restoring them. I had success with TMI stuff when I re-upholstered my '98 Cobra 'vert. The one thing I didn't like was the new seat foam sitting me up so high, and I'm not at all tall.
On the A/C, I bit the bullet and bought the soup to nuts kit from Late Model Restoration. I didn't want to rely on a single old component failing if I was going to all that trouble. A lot of the components were actually Four Seasons stuff. It all went together correctly and worked perfectly. I vacuumed the system myself and then charged it. I'm getting 40 degree air from the vents, which is nice down here in SW Florida.
Appreciate the info & part #'s!
Planning on doing the same thing as I have a vacuum pump and manifold set.
Did you use r134a? That's super cold temps. Hopefully mine will come close.
Good luck with your seat reupholstering. If you've done another car, it should be a piece of cake.
The kit I got was all 134A ready and so that's what I charged it with along with the right PAG oil. In all fairness, that 37° reading I got was inside the garage on a 65ish temp day. The gauge I keep in the vent typically reads 45ish.
I really appreciate the kind words. I'm sure keen eyes will see a few things either not done right or not done yet. I may post a build thread and share some of the 300 or so photos that will take us all from where I started to where it sits now. It was what most consider not worth it, but it was to me!
Beautiful
Love that front nose style
Not meant to be a build post, but just a few quick shots of the exterior transformation from receiving the car through getting it shiny and white. It came as a complete car, I had removed the fenders by the time I started taking pictures. Then epoxy primer, white high-build primer then color but before the stripes went on. It had no top, at all, just a good frame thankfully.
I primed/painted the hood, trunk lid, bumper covers and fenders off of the car. Did not want paint lines if at all possible.
Hope it inspires someone to stay after their project!
