Default Ford to GM I'll See You Fancy Tailgate and Raise You an Onboard Generator

Ford is asking their Texas dealers to loan all the F150's with generators to people without power
due to the severe cold weather.

Onboard generator, what a useful option for contractors.

Now they have to fight over semiconductor chips. Lets play the fiddle for them.
With everything going electronic for some reason, not enough to go around.
Chevy Volts came with hd jumper cables and air pump from factory stowed in back.

Wonder if the 2022 electric F-150 Lightning will have an on board generator to recharge the battery?
    Why not?

Who would buy a new lightning? I can’t imagine having a all electric truck.I can’t imagine the price.the prices of the new 150’s are ridiculous..way to much money ..any truck really..8 years down the road you are sick of it..or it’s rusted out..I have a 2013 crew cab Silverado I bought new.have maintained it pretty well.paint still looks new..always buffed etc....already starting to Bubble over the passenger rear wheel well..41,000.dodge was the worse.they are the new Toyota bed of the eighties lol

Drove to the rouge missed the entourage.
The news said Biden did a burnout in the test truck on the ford track nearby.
Drove by the Ford 'The Glass House' (FWHQ).
Massive rock concert style towers and lighting on the front lawn for projection of images onto the building.
The whole southern side was a temp 12 story white screen like a drive in.
Must be nice to pee profits gouged from customers into such advertising.
Batteries for electric cars are said to cost 5-10k plus labor and other parts every 10 years.
Plus the radio news reported DTE energy (SE Mich.) is raising peak hour use rates 1.5x.
Utilities are $$$ giddy ready to corner an energy market of future vehicle dependence on electricity.
On top of everything else powered by electricity.

Biden did not drive the F150. if you look for the video and watch it in slow motion the truck had 2 steering wheels. passenger was driving.

Default pickup with a deeluxe front trunk for tailgating

    https://www.ford-trucks.com/articles...mpaign=content

Having driven electric forklifts, ideal plan is plug in and charge battery any chance you get.
Reality: opportunity charging is time consuming. And if there is an open charger available and it works.
By the time its all set up, you need to use the machine. Changing propane tanks is faster.
    Pumping fuel is too.

Comparing fuel mpg to miles per charging hour (and cost), is a new one.
