    Default Motor mounts

    84 Ltd lx 5.0 t5 sefi.
I am getting ready to swap out my 5.0 for a 347 and hood clearance looks like it will be tight. How much do the convertible motor mounts lower the engine?

What intake are you using? My LTD has MM solid mounts (explorer 5.0/SEFI) and I had to remove the hood liner because it rubbed the new paint of my intake manifold.

My 5.0 has a trick flow intake set up, and it comes pretty close to the hood. The 347 has an edelbrock pro flo 4 setup. Just looking at it, it looks pretty tall.

Oh and to answer the original question, I believe it’s 3/8” or 3/4” lower for the vert mounts. The problem with the LTD hood is rubbing on the front (distributor side) of the intake and throttle body

What kind of mounts did you use? Did it affect how your headers fit?

    Got them from LMR

Actually came from 2 different manufacturers. We put them in an 83 so shop had to do some hole slotting/drilling but nothing difficult

I run Hooker Super Comp shorties with BBK 2 1/2 non cat cross pipe and there were no issues . No under car clearance issues using Quikor 2 inch front drop with BFG 245/50 -16s.
