It only takes me to photobucket and doesn't show any pictures. Maybe your problem is the file size is too large to upload. I download and resize my pictures thru MS Paint to 20% of original size and then I can upload it here fine.

Maybe that's my issue, when I try to upload to the site it say unable to upload. I'll give that a whirl.

I'm so confused by some of what you said due to what's there and what's not there.

This was a non ac car, but does have rear defrost, no sunroof. I bought the car from the original owner she was a sweet old lady in her 70s.

Was the car ever in an accident and have the front end or rad support changed? That would explain the 1982 hatch buck tag. From the look of the pictures it has been repainted.

    Were T-tops available on 79 coupe's? Interesting.

They were not available on any Capri or Mustang in 1979. First year for that option was 1981.

So the buck tag and decal are mismatched?

Yes, it appears so. Door tag is from a 1979 5.0L 2-door sedan (coupe). Buck tag is from a 1982 5.0L GT.

Did some checking.... the front core support has been replaced at one time, I'm not sure when but whoever did it did a decent job on the repair.

That could explain the mismatch. I knew T-tops didn't appear in 79, so this post threw me some.

It's rare as this 79 has parts from an 82 gt t top car, that just added like $2,000 to its value.... hahaha

Check my footnote I6 81 Mustang ITZOLD.

Check the frame tags. Read the article. I dont want to tell others how to commit felony offences. My car was exported to Japan, and had its 1981 Hatch body VIN tag swapped for another 3.3 auto 1982 coupe's body VIN tag. The VIN tag doesnt match the engine.

The engine number and frame horn tags govern what the car is.
Buck tag and screen VIN can be changed when a car is almost or actually written off.

Its easy to flim flam some little old ladies. But also carear engineers like me who should have known better.

But like you, who wouldn't enjoy a Four eyed Fox for sale?

Having a VIN tag of a different year and body type is possiable after the car is built if its had an accident. Its not 100% that your ride is cut and shut. Its probably due to some other matter. O dear me, what can the matter be...?

Follow my thread, and do your research with Fox Chassis help. The truth is out there!

For me the X-files are xctasy!

I have a clean title for this car and the 2.8 auto hatchback I got as a package deal, the title matches the door and the dash so that's all I'm really worried about as far as ever registering it or anything.

Right on. That was how it was for me too.
