    Default 83 Mustang GT

Appears to be a low mileage 83 GT with some very tasteful mods.

    Dual exhaust
    Factory fog light valance
    10 hole rims

Always liked the 83 hood scoop. Would look better with the new 16" TRX rims on it.

The rest looks strictly factory and original. Nice starting price.

It also has a 140mph speedo. Mileage may not be original. But still looks to be low miles.

I thought the front air dam/ fog light valence didn't appear until late 1984?? I had an early 84 and it didn't come with fog lights.

Before they started showing up on the production cars in mid ‘84, they were available in early ‘84 either as a part that you could buy yourself from Ford Motorsports and install (the lower part below the bumper rub strip, you had to cut the original lower section off and install the new valance with the fog light holes), or it could be installed as a dealer option. Occasionally they show up on ebay, though I haven’t seen one in a while.

This one appears to have a bumper swap to the later 84 GT with the OEM lower air dam. If it was using the Motorsport add on lower air dam, the lower section would be one piece that wraps around from wheel well to wheel well. This one you can see the seam between the lower front fender extensions and the front bumper cover, that tells you its the production front bumper cover. Good looking GT!

The description says the original owner used to be a Ford engineer. Hard to trust the auction listings on Ebay, but it looks like whoever owned the car liked it enough to only mod it with mostly factory parts and took care of it. I do see the non-standard fog light switch hanging down at the lower part of the dash on the driver's side. The decals look like they are in their original positions, and they are all there. It even has "Premium Sound". Woo hoo! Look at the seat rail in the 5th to the last picture. No rust.
