I wanted to go with 17's also, but the offsets didn't work for my setup. These still aren't perfect, but I can make them work for what I want to do. Just don't have the funds for custom wheels so these were the best option for the $$. I like the look and the charcoal centers go well with my paint scheme. Hopefully it all comes together as I have it in my head.

Well... I charged the battery, cranked up the GT. Spent hours getting the leaves and pollen pods off it. Even pulled the vent cover off and vacuumed the leaves out of everywhere they cause problems IE. moisture and ensuing rust. The inside still like new but original paint is showing its age.

Picked up a set of 16in TRX wheels and should be getting new tires next week. The Pony's are nice but I want the almost original look Its lowered about 1 1/2 inches. That's the "almost".

Pulled the ol gal out and gave her the first bath of the year. I let the dust sit on it and now it needs clay bar and wax. I took it down the road to see what kind of tweaking the new 750 carb needs. It's pretty bad. Way too lean in some spots, too rich in others.

Yesterday drove the Mustang across town to visit and shop. Ran great. Cigar lighter quit working.
Tweaking the manual choke assy and cable stops worked out the bind.
Engine likes choke flap closed a little bit when warm. A noticeable sweet spot of mpg, smoothness, and power.
In addition to warm up, the manual choke is doubling as a carb fine tuning device on the fly.

So it wants just a bit more fuel it seems. Maybe size up the jets a notch?

And you noticed the cigar lighter quit working because you were charging your phone or trying to light a cigar, LOL?

I had to reinstall the 42lb injectors and just got a new MAS for a 2000 F150 Lightning for my new super charger then on the 12th I have to take it over to get the ECU chipped, have all the sensors adjusted, and I think I have the wrong length push rods so need them to install them and 3 dyno runs

    thankye for the reminder!

Using it for filtered cigars. Grampa and dad smoked the big ones. Big ones make my eyes burn.
Not a cell phone user. Do use them for everything but calls.
Have two fused power points pass side of dash for accessories.
Keeps wires out of the way.

Pretty sure the lighter power wire is off. No 12v power. Happened before.
Been changed out so many times, the connector is not tight anymore. Plier time.
Is something to show off a working cigar lighter in an old car at a red light or something.
I get extra elements from scrap yards. Most are unused.

Now having been reminded, went out to check just now. Confirmed. Now can sleep.
The Mustang lighter works in the Ranger.
    Will fix first chance.
With warm weather starting again, lighting up with a BIC is not easy with windows down on eway.
Have not used the console ashtray for butts. Bad spot. Missed it one too many times.
Have a small butt bucket clipped to the door.
Or if its full, reach out and throw them up and back over the roof or they may blow back in.
Then watch the RV mirror see if it cleared when it explodes sparks at night behind the car on a dark road.

One time, riding in friend's car, almost flicked a butt on a cop car hood waiting next to us at a light.
Were in his 69 RR i believe, so he always looked for cops and stopped me no no no..dont.. . Dint see them.
Had to be that car or his 71 340 Cuda. He never allowed smoking (cars were new) until met a gf that smoked.

mini butane stick lighters or torchs work great with pipes.
the flame is not near fingers and are shorter than fire starter lighters.
Menard's sells refillable type 2 bucks for two sticks, or one mini blow torch.
    Good old matches work too

Finally put the LMR TRX wheels on the '84 along with 245/50-16 g-Force Sport COMP-2 BF Goodrich tires. The car is lowered approx. 1 1/2 inches it looks great to me. Tires are "summer" formula and should be good for dry traction and handling.

These are about the widest you can put on the car and the same size that was on the Pony rims I removed. Never had any tire rub and the car handles like a go-kart. I'm more into corners then straight. Not to say it won't run straight pretty quickly though.

Since they are new they should take me to my 73 birthday. LOL

And yes I know "without pics it didn't happen" but I should get some tomorrow.

Dug out my old 79 cobra (roller) and moved it from the old garage to the new garage and finished welding up the passenger frame rail. Tomorrow, I'm going to clean up some of the weld with a flap disk and then start sanding on the crusty roof. Feels good to get back to this project.

You just made a new post. First Welcome to FEP!

If your question is how to start a new thread, then that is simply a matter of clicking on the appropriate folder (this folder is General BS), then at the top of the thread listings is a button on the left hand side under the "FourEyedPride.com The Early Fox Site" POST NEW THREAD. Click on that and you will start a new thread, make sure you type in a title (subject) and then the body of your new Thread post and you should be good to go. Hope that helps. If not feel free to PM me and I will do my best.

Destroyed the windshield. Needed pulled so I could clean up the window channel. I was hoping it hadn't been replaced before, but no luck. Original butyl seal was gone and replaced with urethane, which was hard as a rock and way too thin to get a knife or removal tool in without breaking the glass.

Anyway, it's out. Roof cleaned up and rust converter applied. Working on window channel now. Nothing too bad... just surface rust and pitting. I took a wire wheel to it. It'll get rust converter and primer.

Anyone know if windshields are still readily available? It's been several years since I've had to purchase one.

    Cigar lighter works again.
Took cover plate off and wiggled the 40y old Scotchloks that tap the 12v constant hot to power something.
Can't remember. Added wires go everywhere back under there.

Windshields are available and in most cases are only a day or two out from most locations that are not a big metro area. I definitely recommend using the urethane and getting the later model style front windshield with the Frits (black band/dots) that protects the urethane from sun damage. Unless you are building a show car that needs a more original style windshield the later models work just fine and fit the same. Depending on brand you can even get the 3rd sunvisor Frits and I have even seen some with the Running pony on windshield, but I don't recall brand. Good Luck!
